How to create a QR code

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. You can create and download direct Standard QR codes as PNG or SVG for free. Creative AI generation is a separate product with its own credit system.

Do I need an account to create a QR code?

No account is needed for direct Standard QR generation and download. Scan tracking uses a hosted short link and requires signing in.

What can I put in a QR code?

Choose a website URL, plain text, email, phone number, SMS, WhatsApp message, Wi-Fi network, contact card, calendar event, or location. A scanner may open the relevant app or ask for confirmation; behavior varies by device.

Do these QR codes expire?

A direct static QR code has no Scanfolk expiry timer: its information is stored in the pattern. A website can still move or disappear, and a Wi-Fi password or contact detail can become outdated. Hosted tracking links also depend on the redirect service remaining available.

Can I change the content after downloading?

The information inside a direct QR file cannot be edited. Generate and share a new code if that information changes. If you control the linked web page, you can update the page while keeping its address. Turning on tracking does not make an existing direct QR file editable.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG is convenient for documents, messages, and tools that expect an image. SVG keeps the vector geometry sharp when resized and is useful in design and print workflows that accept it. Test the final placement at its actual size whichever format you choose.
