At a glance
Effective: September 10, 2026
- Use Scanfolk lawfully and keep your account secure.
- You retain your rights in user content and permit only the processing needed to operate the service.
- AI output and scan checks require your review and final-placement testing.
- Paid checkout is not active; purchase-specific terms will be shown before any payment.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Service govern your use of Scanfolk. By using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use Scanfolk for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
You must be at least 13 and legally able to enter this agreement. If local law requires a higher age, that higher age applies.
2. Accounts and security
You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your sign-in method, and activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@scanfolk.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Google sign-in is optional and is also subject to Google’s applicable terms. Third-party authentication availability is not controlled by Scanfolk.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Scanfolk to break the law, infringe rights, deceive or impersonate others, distribute malware, facilitate abuse, evade service limits, probe or disrupt systems, or create QR destinations that are harmful, fraudulent, or unsafe.
You may not reverse engineer or resell the service except where law permits or we agree in writing. We may investigate abuse and limit or suspend access to protect users and the service.
4. User content
User content includes destinations, text, contact details, prompts, uploaded material, visual settings, and other information you submit. You retain your rights in your user content and are responsible for having the permissions needed to use it.
You grant Scanfolk a limited, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, transform, and display user content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the service and to produce the results you request.
You are responsible for the destinations and claims encoded in your QR codes and for removing or updating content when you no longer have permission to use it.
5. AI-generated results and scanning
AI-generated results may be inaccurate, unexpected, similar to other outputs, or unsuitable for your intended use. Rights in AI output may vary by jurisdiction and context. Review every result and do not rely on it as professional advice.
Scan tests reduce risk but do not guarantee that every camera, device, print material, size, lighting condition, placement, or future scanner will read a QR code. You must test the final exported and physical placement before publishing or printing it.
6. Short links and analytics
A QR code that uses a Scanfolk short link depends on the continued availability of the redirect service. You are responsible for keeping the destination lawful and safe. We may disable links that create security, legal, or abuse risk.
If tracking is enabled, Scanfolk may show aggregate click counts and scan times. Do not use the service to collect or infer sensitive information about people without a lawful basis and appropriate notice.
7. Credits and payments
Standard static QR generation is currently free. Creative generation uses credits according to the pricing shown at the time of use. Credits may be reserved while a job runs and charged for an accepted result; technical failures may release the reservation under the product rules then in effect.
Checkout is not currently accepting payments. If paid plans or top-ups launch, the price, taxes, renewal, cancellation, expiration, and refund terms shown at purchase will also apply. Promotional or trial credits may have separate limits and no cash value.
8. Availability and changes
We may add, change, pause, or discontinue features. Generation, storage, authentication, and short links depend on third-party infrastructure and may be unavailable or delayed. Keep independent copies of important results and original content.
We may update these terms as the service changes. The updated date will appear above; continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Scanfolk at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for violations, nonpayment after paid features launch, legal requirements, security, or protection of the service and others.
Terms that by their nature should survive termination—including responsibilities for user content, disclaimers, liability limits, and records we must retain—will survive.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Scanfolk is provided as available and without warranties of uninterrupted operation, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or guaranteed scanning performance.
To the extent permitted by law, Scanfolk and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits or data, failed scans, destination changes, or reliance on generated output. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
